- Wizards will never, under any circumstances, use their wizard's powers to benefit a player in any way other than the defined benefits available to all players. This includes their own alts, alts of their friends, or any other random person.
- Wizards will not share the identity of players' alts with other players without their consent.
- Wizards will communicate with the rest of the wizard core about situations that directly affect the muck.
- Wizards will not share wiz-channel conversations about players with players.
- Wizards will not spy on private player communication.
- There will be no witch-hunts. If a player is a twit, the players will FIGURE IT OUT. They do NOT need anyone else to tell them, privately or otherwise.
- Wizards will respect each other. If a wizard is handling it, another will not interfere unless they are asked to. If one has a suggestion, they will offer it privately.
- Wizards are expected to excuse themselves from any situation in which they might have a conflict of interest.
Appendix B: Policies
III: Staff and Player Policies
Wizards
Problems With Wizards
- Do not involve players who are not already involved.
- Talk to the wizard about it. If they are not responsive, talk to another wizard.
- Wizards will never, under any circumstances, take discriminatory action against a player for lodging a complaint.
- Wizards are expected to excuse themselves from any situation in which they might have a conflict of interest.
Staff
Helpstaff exists primarily to field general
questions, aid new players and generally be helpful. (That's
right. You've got to be helpful.) Since they also make up a group of
trusted individuals, the wizards may tap them for special projects,
gain opinions on changes to system, policy, and etcetera.
- Try and remain On Duty as much as possible. Everyone goes through days where they don't feel like dealing with extra things, and that's fine, but try and be on duty if you can be.
- Conversations on the staff channel should be staff related. Use general chat for chatting.
- Staff is held to the same standards of confidentiality as the wiz corps is. If you're asked to keep it quiet, please, keep it quiet.
- Do not divulge a player's alts. Not to your best friend, your roommate, your significant other, or even to someone you assume already knows.
- No witch hunts. Don't blackball new players. Ever.
- If you're involved in any roleplay arbitration, be impartial as possible. Don't make calls based on how much you like certain players, or if it will benefit your IC persona in any way. You are expected to excuse yourself from any situation in which you have a conflict of interest.
- If you have problems with a staff member, either take it up privately with them, or bring it to a wizard.
Players
- Don't be an asshole.
- If you feel the need to demand something more specific, please read the Player Policies.
